Clean water - one of mankind's biggest challenges

The lack of clean, fresh drinking water is one of the biggest health problems in all of Africa. It is true for our neighborhood as well. Very early every morning, children and women from our neighborhood used to queue in front of our village in order to pump fresh water from a hose that we had installed to facilitate their access.

In the meantime we were able to replace this temporary solution by an industry grade waterpump – installed close to the neighboring village which today pumps enough water every day to serve roughly 500 to 700 people. A local engineering company dug the borehole and installed the pump on our behalf and we celebrated its opening with many community members.
