Raising the educational level of the community

Pre- and Primary education is currently still the cornerstone of our educational activities. Most of our children are still very young, given their special backgrounds. We provide pre-school education on-site by offering three distinctive age-groups to all children who are old- and confident enough to join.

Our educational activities are carefully overseen and developed by Dorte Budolfsen, an experienced teacher and herself mother of six children. Dorte, together with her team of teachers, constantly reviews and further develops our kindergarten- and pre-school activities. This is also an important area where we welcome the assistance from qualified, long-term volunteers who enjoy working in this field.

When our children reach Primary-School age, we send them to an outside school, because we want to raise them as ordinary Ugandans. We collaborate closely with the All Nations School, a well managed, nearby primary school which caters to about 300 children from our community. Here, too, we help to raise the educational and health-standards and emphasize on a holistic, child-centred education for all children at this school. Working at this school is also among the regular activities, which some of our long-time volunteers have enjoyed taking up.
