Fight against Malaria and HIV
An integral approach to health is our top priority. We prefer to be inclusive, not exclusive. In Uganda, infectious diseases like malaria, HIV and so on are common problems, claiming many lives every year.
By emphasizing prevention through education, hygiene and vaccination we have achieved internationally acknowledged success. For example, with careful application of WHO standards and targeted public health measures, we have nearly eliminated Malaria in our village. When a new child is taken into guardianship, we first treat it for malaria, bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases. At the same time, we vaccinate them within their first two years of life in accordance with a modified international vaccination schedule.
If it turns out that a child or a member of our staff is HIV-positive we provide the necessary treatment and support, including antiretroviral treatment according to international standards.
