Ashlee Dickinson
My name is Ashlee Dickinson. I am from Iowa right in the middle of the United States. I spent 6 months at Kids of Africa teaching physical education to the kids and exercising with the mothers and Kids of Africa staff.
I was a college athlete as well as a fitness instructor through my time at the University of Nebraska. Fitness is an important part of life. I feel you are never to young or old to start taking care of your body. I was blessed during my time at Kids of Africa to be surrounded by people who felt the same way. Every morning the mothers, kids and I would get up and spend 30 minutes to an hour exercising together. We enjoyed seeing everyone's body change as exercises and movements became easier with each class. It was exciting to show the kids different ways to move their bodies. We also got to spend some time stretching their imaginations along with those new muscles.
My time at Kids of Africa was amazing and I thank everyone who helped make my time there a reality. Finally, a word to the kids at Kids of Africa. I know most of you aren't old enough to read this, but I'll say it anyway: I love you all and am so excited to watch you grow up. Just don't do it too fast.
