When I give for a charitable cause, I like to know that my gift has a maximum impact. With Kids of Africa I know for certain that 100 Swiss Francs donated arrive entirely at the orphans´ home in Uganda.
In my family, christmas presents are a thing of the past! Instead at every years end we give to a charitable organisation, and this year we decided to give to Kids of Africa. Kids of Africa offers colourfull T-shirts for children and adults - the sales proceeds go to the orphans in Uganda. I decided to buy as many as I could possibly carry to my favorite place in Zurich: the Grand Café Odeon.
Early in the morning on Christmas day 2005 I arrived at the Odeon equipped with my sports bags filled with Kids of Africa T-shirts: small, medium up to extra-large in green, blue, red and yellow. At the Odeon, I meet friends, old acquaintance and I get to know new people. My christmas gift to anyone who is interested is a Kids of Africa T-shirt.
The reactions were fabulous, people loved the shirts and were impressed by the story of the Uganda orphans home. By christmas evening, my sports bags are empty, the T-shirts have found a new home and I feel good about a christmas day well spent. Merry Christmas!
