A school for Child-refugees – so, that they can build a better future at home!
Because returning home is the dearest wish for most refugees.
Refugees are not migrants. Refugees flee for fear. Migrants hope to find a better life abroad. But almost all refugees want to return home. In Uganda, we can help them make that dream a success!
Because as of late, Uganda has been overwhelmed with a flood of refugees.

Hundreds of thousands from South Sudan fled to Uganda in 2017. These are poor, desperate parents and even more children. They are hungry, weak and thirsty. The loss of dignity eats their hope. But Uganda’s society is helping in an exemplary way. Gracefully, some communities measure themselves by how well they look after their weakest members. But solidarity also needs experience and resources.
Kids of Africa is well experienced helping orphaned and vulnerable children. Our two existing schools are cheap and cheerful. They rank high for good results and for cost-control. To pupils, they inspire confidence and convey life-competences. These are valuable experiences. Today, we want to share them with some of the weakest children in northern Uganda, where most refugees live side by side with poor Uganda-children in a war-ravaged region.
We want to build and run a comprehensive school.
Jointly with the Green Leaves Education Foundation we are planning to start a project and have completed preparations. Now, the flood of refugees requires us to step up. That’s why we seek your help. Jointly with local community-members and –leaders we want to build and run a comprehensive school. It shall teach primary and vocational skills. Given the extraordinary circumstances, we may raise the scope from 100 to 500 pupils. Besides primary-classes, it shall teach sustainable farming-techniques, construction, woodwork and health. This deceptively simple concept has worked so well for 500 pupils near the original Kids of Africa village. We would like to offer its benefits to those who need us most today. Because we believe in them.
