An analysis of almost one thousand scholarships for Ugandan pupils, which were awarded after the two-year school closures in Uganda, raises the question of whether the scholarships have a lasting effect.
The study is based on two methodological pillars.
The study confirms the significant personal and social benefits that the unexpected scholarships have brought to the recipients, their families and their schools.
The study argues that the benefits of scholarships far outweigh the costs. Unfortunately, it also identifies disadvantages such as moral dangers and a culture of dependency.
Although the scope of the study is limited, its conclusions offer valuable lessons for future research and scholarship programmes.
Because we believe in each of them! Thank you for your help!
