Stronger together: Our anniversary run on Ugandan TV

Dear friends,
Last Sunday, our protégés organized a half marathon to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kids of Africa. The event attracted guests of all ages, who joined local dignitaries such as the mayor and a group of Kenyan runners.
Ugandan television summarized the day in a short portrait.
Take a look for yourself.
Three keywords about the occasion and anniversary:
“We are family”: For 20 years, Kids of Africa has been offering vulnerable children a real family, a home, education, self-confidence, and family values. The result: confident young people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard for their country and their future. That was also the message conveyed by our Run for Fun.

2. Sport is a lifestyle and a central educational pillar. In addition to other school subjects, sport promotes (self-)confidence, team spirit, health, and performance.

3. “Stronger together” is a guiding principle that deeply connects our protégés and families. It is the invisible secret behind their radiant smiles and their unwavering determination to shape the future.

A word about our finances:
This year, our income has decreased significantly compared to last year – while we have been able to keep our expenses constant, even though we are providing more help than ever before.
Every donation, no matter how small or large, is crucial for us. Thank you for continuing to support the wonderful children of Kids of Africa – so that they in turn can help other people in Uganda.
I wish you a wonderful Sunday and send you my warmest regards and many thanks!
Always yours – and on behalf of many children and young people – Burkhard Varnholt
